Have you heard of the prayer of Jabez? It is found in the Chronicles and what makes it interesting is that it sets in the middle of the boring "begats"... You know what I'm talking about; so and so begat so and so and so and so begat so and so... boring!
But right in the middle of all the begetting this is written: Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. His mother had named him Jabez, saying, "I gave birth to him in pain." Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, "Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain." And God granted his request. - 1 Chronicles 4:9-10
First notice that Jabez is said to be more honorable than his brothers. We aren't given a clue as to what that is about except for his prayer. If his prayer is an example of who he was then it can be seen why God calls him honorable.
